Banglar Manabadhikar Suraksha Mancha (MASUM) is shocked by the news of killing of about 25 Jawans at Burkapal area under Police Station Chintabufa of District Sukma; Chattisgarh on 24th April, 2017; yesterday by an ambush carried out by the ‘Maoist’, as alleged.
MASUM strongly agree with the version of Government of India that Maoist are losing ground at Chattisgarh, and the situation of ‘internal armed conflict’ is not prevailing in the country. Contrary to their claims hundreds of reports of deaths during fake encounters, rape, molestation, torture, arsons in Bastar area by the armed forces of the Government are coming and haunting the psyche of civil society. Further in each and every case, the perpetrators are enjoying immunity and never punished. MASUM also observing that the different Government’s schemes, social security measures and regulations like Forest Rights Act, PESA, on health service, on education have not been implemented in that area.
While condemning the killing of CRPF Jawans, MASUM strongly feels that the trouble does not lies on only law and order debacle; rather it is a social, political and economic issue of the marginalized Adivasis of the area, who are in brink of total perish and deprived with any due process to get justice and dignity as enshrined by the Article 21 of our Constitution. MASUM desired that the Government of India and Government of Chhattisgarh will deal this problem politically, economically and socially within a democratic framework.
